This 'bloody' plaid initiates the blood pool where artist Mark Rothko lied in when he cutted his right arm with a razorblade in 1970 inside his studio. 

Participants can have a go and lie down onto this plaid, try to visualize the pain and the suffering Rotho was going through. 

Although he was depressed and suffered from aortic aneurysm due to heavy drinking, it somehow affected his talent and ideas positively of creating such impressive and astonishing paintings that it brings up the question:

'What if he wasn't ill?' Would he be able to create paintings with the same impact as it does today?
